"I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that"
- Lloyd Dobbler from Say Anything

Quote of the Week
This is George Carlin. I like this picture and prefer it to the common bald and zany Carlin images from his later years. I included 11 quotes because Carlin was big on the rule of 10 (which he talks about in his 10 commandments stand-up). He thought that the use of the number 10 satisfied people, such as Top 10 lists, 1-10 ranking scales, 10 fingers, 10 toes, etc.
For someone who wore black to work the day after he died (I really did), the 11 quotes are my shout-out to someone I respected for his willingness to comment, dissect and usually scathe, many of the "big issues" in American culture. He was rigid and too crass for many people's tastes, but, if some of the following quotes don't make you go "hmm, never of thought of it like that", then I apologize for wasting your time.
Hope you had merry weekends. I miss you and love you all. Also, I am home from Dec. 23 to Jan. 3. Can we please start talking New Years?? Please.
Carlinisms:
* The very existence of flamethrowers proves that sometime, somewhere, someone said to themselves, “You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I’m just not close enough to get the job done.”
* “No comment” is a comment.
* What was the best thing before sliced bread?
* If a man smiles all the time, he’s probably selling something that doesn’t work.
* Property is theft. Nobody “owns” anything. When you die, it all stays here.
* Isn’t it a bit unnerving that doctors call what they do “practice”?
* I would never want to be a member of a group whose symbol was a man nailed to two pieces of wood.
* I put a dollar in a change machine. Nothing changed.
* Cloud nine gets all the publicity, but cloud eight actually is cheaper, less crowded, and has a better view
* Here’s a bumper sticker I’d like to see: “We are the proud parents of a child who’s self-esteem is sufficient that he doesn’t need us promoting his minor scholastic achievements on the back of our car.”
* Honesty may be the best policy, but it’s important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

Quote of the Week
Guppies,
Here is the quote of the week. Hopefully this becomes a weekly thang. Also, if you have any quotes to add, put 'em up there. I hope to include a variety, everyone from Michelangelo to Michael Jordan to Michael Moore to Michael Mazur ("Mom?").
Here is week 1. I thought, "this would be better if heard". Then, I found the website (at the bottom of the quote), which plays the quote in a pretty hysterical fashion. If you can find audio of Dylan saying this, it is worth 28 seconds of your oh so precious time.
"Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time, But all the people can't be all right all the time. I think Abraham Lincoln said that. I'll let you be in my dreams if I can be in yours. I said that."
- Bob Dylan, "Talkin' World War III Blues"

Kyle Broflovski - Mazur
cheap, angry easily, firy outbursts, Cartman is his nemesis
Kenny McCormick - Chambers
- white trashy, wears a hat that says Scotch on it, mostly like to get blown up
Randy Marsh - Miller - geologist, radical
- crazy, outrageous, overzealous
Portillo - Mr. Hankey
- pleasant, but really just a piece a shit
Butters Scotch - Kevin
- kind but very nerdy, makes up songs in his room and sometimes thinks he is a superhero
Mr.Mackey, mmmkah- Clint
- reprimanding, hypocritical about drug use
Tweak - Weiss
- wound up, angst ridden, screams
Eric Cartman - Williams
- fat, antagonistic, hates cats
Mr. Garrison - Faust
- gay, control freak, has a man-slave
There is no Chef - we have no stone cold pimp with musical talent and a smooth voice of reason
There is no Stan - Stan is the voice of reason, the wisest and rarely, rarely shows any loss of tempermant. I know no one like that amongst us...

If you are a fan of TCU football, then I encourage you to watch this youtube link:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xe46HOHBYw
I would have embeded to the blog but unfortunately our blog is still formated in standard aspect ratio (4:3).
I know we typically do not get a lot of comments on videos, but I think this one deserves a little something, especially since the season starts Saturday. Spit Blood TCU.
Enjoy.

Hey folks,
How is everyone doing out there in your worlds? I had a nice Labor Day weekend. I had Chambers, Jess, baby Luke, Bear and Katie over on Saturday night for some fajitas and beer. Luke Chambers is a good baby.
I received a text message form Lubahn who was attending his 10 year high school reunion. I am not sure if he was drunk or not, here is a text I got from him at 1:29am- you be the judge, "Bats closr sat 3... drunk las a skunk... u r my freid" This is verbatim.
Lee is fastidiously shopping for a car. He will surely make a decision by 2011.
I talked to Williams last night. He is working a lot and actually does get paid in bananas. He is close tp booking a flight around homecoming so keep the pressure on to bring babaganoosh home.
Piper and I are pretty sure we will be coming up to Fort Worth for homecoming/halloween.
Hope all is well.
