New Year's 2010
Option 1: New Orleans
Close, fun, reasonably warm, inexpensive, Bourbon Street and brown sugars (lubahn?). Could be awesome. Maybe there's a Lil Wayne concert or something on NYE and we can kick it with him and the Birdman until we find God.

Option 2: Big Ben National Park, Lake Canyon Park,...

Big Ben is real far away. Probably too far. Personally, I think mixing it up with a camping trip or somewhere we'd never expect to find ourselves would be a cool deal. I don't know too many National Parks in TX area, but if y'all does, I think it's worth considering. Any ideas?

Who's in for an IC NYE?
Anybody already have plans?

I'd like to do a good NYE again. It's been a couple years and it'd be nice to get the band back together again.

Wouldn't it be sweet to get 6...or 8...or...? Think if we had 8-10. I'd like to be a part of that evening.

it's big bend, not ben or be, bat or bet or bed. as far as state parks go, there's enchanted rock (fredricksburg). and if all were down for camping i know of a nice plot of land we could hang out on. we have a giant fire pit perfect for staying warm around. new orleans would be badass.

Somewhere close will be easier for us. However, New Orleans might be perfect if the Frogs enjoy a little Sugar on January 1st!

I am soooo down for camping. Big fire, beer, maybe some irty, hot dogs, smores. And fishing! We can fish. I already have wife approval.

Where do I sign?

Check out Garner State Park. It's closet, just as nice and we can even stay at my dad's house in Leakey if we don't feel like roughing it every night.

I like camping, beer and fishing very much.

I like that idea BDub.

This has good momentum...

I want to fish. Then I want to catch fish. And, finally, I want to cook the fish we catch.

Is this possible?

I have also heard good things about Garner State Park

marcspoke said...

do it. momentum and fishing poles is what we got... we just need momentum now.

I hope no one minds but I threw the invite out to Stadler.....he's pumped!

Pretty sure possession of a firearm at a state or national park is a felony.

In response to Lubes post, I wonder if Stadlet is gonna vamp it up for the 28th year in a row for all Hallows Eve. Can someone please post a pic of Stadler dressed up as a vampiro? It would make my day.

I too would love to see a pic of Vampire Stadler. Lubahn has to have one somewhere.

Camping would be perfect for NYE, super easy too. However, my plans will be tentative based on whether or not the Frogs crash the BCS. If this happens (knock on wood), then I will be camping at a tailgate spot in either New Orleans or Pasadena (which are the only two BCS bowls on January 1).

If the Frogs go to a BCS game in New Orleans, I think a re-working of plans might be in order.

On the other hand, it appears Kevin cares more about the Horned Frogs then his Horned Friends. (I actually do have a horn)

So is Garner Park garnering momentum? Gutting and eating the fish you catch is fun.

marcspoke said...

raw fish, it's not just for sushi anymore.

I am working on getting a Vampire Stadler picture.

I think Adam brings up a good point about Kevin's loyalty. I am sure he will handle it well. Kevin likes having his loyalty questioned.

I'm at banking on some of my Horned friends coming out of the woodworks and joining me in BCS land

if staddler is coming, make sure he brings his tooth brush. i may have to pass on the festivities b/c house hunting.

I've already told my wife that I will be going wherever the Frogs go if they should land in a BCS Bowl.

As you can imagine that conversation went well, but she did agree that it would be acceptable, so I'm with you Bear!

I just hope we jump Boise State! Wouldnt that be TCU's luck to finally go undefeated but be snubbed by Boise and end up in the Vegas Bowl... Boise looked bad last night and if they keep up with these close games then the Frogs should get ahead in the standing. But we also SHOULD have been ranked ahead of them at the beginning of the season since we beat them last December. THE BCS SUCKS!

Chambers, are you planning house hunting 3 months in advance? Does your calendar say "House Hunting" with an arrow running from Dec. 30 to Jan.2??

If it does, I apologize for questioning your plans. But I think you just wanted to say house hunting. House hunter.

Mazur, whats up? You in for NYE? Dork. Friendship.

Unless you have crazy money and/or very few specifics that you are looking for in a home I would say at a minimum it takes 3 -6 months to find something.

Bailey is going to be a SWEET house warming gift!

Well, it is going to take Chambers 3-6 to six days. So I guess he has "crazy money" or doesn't care.

made an offer and stated seller to respond within 24 hrs, so now i have issued my counter offer. don't mess around. i'm already getting a house warming gift in the form of a lady, baby, and 100+ lb bull mastiff.
