2011 Boundary Waters Canoe Trip Clint and I recently met for the first time here in the great state of Minnesota and he threw out the idea of a Boundary Waters Canoe trip next summer. It would be an awesome trip, my brother and his buddies do it each year. Check out the Boundary Water site - http://www.bwca.com/ and you will see that this is pretty sweet. The basics of the trip are what you want to bring you will need to carry on your back, you eat what you catch and just chill out. You can portage as much as you like or just create a home site and do smaller day trips. Breakfast over a fire, fishing/swimming during the day, drinks and extracurriculars during the campfire at night.....not bad Thoughts?

minnesota looks bigger than i imagine it.
I'd go. Love camping, pooing in the woods, skinning my catch and toking campfire grass.
In.
We'll need to set a few tentative dates and start planning. I dont see how I could miss it.
Extracurriculars... irty?
Late late July/August is probably the best time to go.
Irty and of course mine and fausts sensitive tummies fav
sign me up.
Warmest Regards,
Tits McGee
Its supposed to be a little bit better than awesome....so come.
I am officially in.
im bringing my tits.
No tits allowed.
I think I hate the word tits.
what about titties? how do you feel about titties? maybe stop being a titty baby?
OK, so let's set some dates.
I know it is a year from now but does anyone have any date conflicts for next summer...weddings, reunions, anniversaries, etc?
Faust is a titty baby
Seriously. I mean "tits" is soooo tired. Can't we use more sophisticated vocabulary (think the New Yorker)? I mean we are almost all 30 years old!
Adam, I was thinking we should start a book club on the blog. Something similar to Oprah's book of the month deal.
I'm going to play bocce ball with Phyllis and Beverly now. Toodles.
Just had another thought. Maybe we could start exchanging our favorite recipes! Tonight I'll be making Cream of Jalepeno soup for my wonderful partner with fresh picked jalepenos and cilantro from my very own garden in my backyard!
I'll keep you all posted on how it turns out! I hope it doesn't separate! Yikes! This is going be great!
I'm not going to get into another superfluous (new yorker-ish) blog argument, particularly not one about the word tits. I've never liked it. Even when I was 12 and liked the word "nards".
Don't you have words you don't like?
Words I do like: Schmear.
"Put some more cinnamon schmear on that bagel."
We schould usche schmear on a more regular basis.
Lubes, I'm in. July-ish, 2011.
Words I hate:
Vajayjay (thanks Perez)
Moist
Mat-ur (as opposed to mature)
Muah (as in when girls give cyber kisses on facebook to other skanky friends)
this trip is gonna be titties. i hope i don't tangle one of my nards in fishing line. can we play schmear the queer?
As for books, I'm reading The Girl Who Played with Fire, by this swedish magazine editor who turned in his trilogy and then died. It's f'ing rad.

Any other book reccs?
how about less fiction? you tit.
house of morgan=non fictiony
Is this the same guy who wrote The Girl With The Dragon tattoo? I heard that movie/book/trilogy was the bees knees!
same dude, yes.
Been reading the Bible too. Is that fiction?
the moral of the story is not fiction.
I think you are wrong about fiction. Fiction is televison, fiction is movies, fiction is funny-or-die, fiction is creativity, imagination and entertainment.
Fiction exists to remove us from everything non-fiction about our existence. You watch TV after a day at your non-fictional job to forget about your non-fictional obligations and to be entertained by fictional characters in a fictional setting. If fiction it entertains you, it succeeds.
I like to read fiction. My life is non-fiction. I work at a newspaper, writing about stories that are completely non-fictional and then try to persuade people to read my non-fictional reports about non-fictional people doing non-fictional things.
So at the end of the day, a little fiction, which is usually comprised of non-fictional situations, is a welcome respite. It's my only dose of fiction in a completely non-fiction existence.
I think this trip will be fun.
I hope this trip is non-fiction.
The mushrooms will play a hand in that.
This trip is very real.
The date is going to be Thursday August 4 through Sunday August 7, 2011.
The plan will be to have everyone fly in sometime on Wednesday August3rd at a reasonable time as we will depart the Twin Cities that night driving to BWCA. We will stay in a hotel that night near BWCA and will put in early the next morning to start our trip.
A couple of esential items of gear are a solid hiking backpack, not the one that you carry books in and a drybag for VIP items.
how is there not enough reality in your life to eliminate the need for escape to fake?
August 4th-7th is now booked in my calendar as "camping." very exciting.
I like nonfiction. And the Rockies this time of year are orgasmic. Who hates the word orgasmic? I do, unless I'm in the Rockies sitting next to the pool in 70 degree weather.
kev, the rockies have nothing to do with mini soda. focus on miley.
That John Denver is full of shit!
I dont camp, fish, or do anything outdoors that requires me to be in any sort of uneccesary peril. I do, however, enjoy drinking and having fun with friends. I will put this on my calender now. I will need someone to set up my tent, catch and cook my fish, carry me on long hikes and row my boat. You can fight over this honor at a later date.
