King Me

Every time you come 'round my city, ring, ring.

Who's buying parade tickets?

Now he's a Maverick's fan.

Faust is numero uno MFFL in IC followed by Chambone, Lubahn and than A-on the fence-Dub.

On June 12th, 2011, DeShawn Stevenson earned the title of being the first player to win an NBA Title with Abraham Lincoln tattooed on his neck.

I expected this comment.

Grew up in Dallas, used to watch the team play in Reunion Arena, attended a Western Conference Finals game in 1988, had a Rolando Blackman jersey and starting lineup figure, had a Jim Jackson jersey and 1994 Jason Kidd jersey, went to a game they won during the 13-win season, covered a few Mavs games for the FWST.

Yeah, my loyalty waned during the early 2000s when I couldn't support some of the GM moves/trades, etc. Even jokingly sided with the Spurs for a while (who I still admire and respect).

But, when you move out of your hometown to a new city or country, your loyalty grows stronger. In Chicago when asked to pick Cubs or Sox, I always answered Texas Rangers.

Been a good Mavs fan in the last few years so I really don't care if you want to question my allegiance.

Also, while I don't follow sports like I used to, the recent awesomeness of TCU, the Mavs and the Rangers has provided me with excuses to pay more attention to my hometown. In some dirty little sports bar in San José, CR, I know that friends and family are watching the same thing I am. That's a cool feeling.

Faust is still more of a TRUE fan. He has TRUE GRIT.

You told me you liked the Sox more b/c they represented Blue Collar Southside baseball. I never heard anything about Rangers...

Also, does this make you a Dallas Stars fan? Dallas Burn or FC Dallas?

Also, DeShawn Stevenson has Abe Lincoln tatted on his neck.

ok, great for Faust.

If I had to choose in Chicago, I'd choose the Sox. Rangers are still fav team.

I try to watch the Dallas Stars in the playoffs. FC Dallas made the finals once and I watched it, but didn't really care.

As for the Finals, I feel like Carlisle significantly outcoached Speolsoaosihta.

Is there anything more needling than questioning someone's allegiance to a sports team? Especially after they have started to win. It always leads to good convfersation.

Is it weird that the first thing I think of when anyone brings up Chicago is Weiss and Adub making out?

Did Faust get tucked this weekend? When is that happening and where is the video/pictures?

Where the fuck is the link to the Kummer blog?

Also, who would have ever thought a Jew would be presenting a German a trophy?

Is it just me or in an unexpected role-reversal is Brian antagonizing Williams?

As far as the header- I know it's a little self-serving, and I would not do it if the Spurs won, but it's the first title- so just let us have this.

I remember when Faust locks or hair-do was dictated by Dirk's hair length. This was after his emo-esque black dye look.

The header is yours. Fuck the Heat...as much as it pains me to say it, Dirk deserved it and Terry fucking balled outta control.

Dirk is the fucking man right now. He is Tim Duncan circa 2005 and 2007. To think they did it all without Caron is hard to fathom. I think it may have been different had this former crack dealer been healthy.

Congrats Faust and Chambers.

we did it!!! we won!!! us!!!

spurs had the better team this year. i called one half of the nba finals. the other half, tuckingly, comes with a haircut. no better way to celebrate victory than with a great hairdo. i remember saying that the heat would win at will this year.

this mavs' win doesnt seem all that fantastic, maybe if they three-peat. anyone want to make a bet on that?

I'd be willing to make a bet that Adam Faust is the only one who has voted for taking a picture of himself naked.

Damn it.

Hadn't read a lot of sports writing lately. I'd forgotten how damn funny Bill Simmons is.

It's long but worth the time.

"I can't remember feeling as good for a non-Boston athlete as I did for Dirk Nowitzki last night. As Ric Bucher tweeted a few days ago, Dirk had experienced so much career-related pain that he had morphed into one of those emotionless action heroes who just cleaned house — like Liam Neeson trying to get his daughter back in Taken or something, when the bullets and knives were pretty much bouncing off him."

Pretty self-incriminating poll there big guy.

You're on a naked island.
