Texas Monthly is amazing.
Some of the best writing in the country and its witty and hip.
All of these are reasons why they wouldn't hire me.
Is this post and subsequent comments sarcasm? Where would one find this publication in St. Louis, MO? I think all we get here is Murder Weekly, Ghetto Journal and Good Raping.
Absolutely no sarcasm. On top of great writing, they have some of the best art direction and photography- I too would be happy to work there if they'd have me.
Good Raping also has great writers.
Butz, you failed to mention the small but wildly popular publication "The East St. Louis Stab Wound Fuck Gazette". I love their editorials and their dining suggestions.

Actually, we should start our own magazine. I think we have the talent to do it.

I worked with a guy once who had a start-up magazine. It was pretty bad but he did it for a year and then sold it and made some profit.
What would our market be? I think we'd have to be a dude's magazine, no? Comedy?
I think our collection of funny stories would be good enough content for a magazine.
Oh yeah, we also need money.
